Pablo Tamayo joined the firm as an associate in 2010. He has extensive experience as a trial lawyer and focuses his efforts to support the firm’s bid protests and related litigation as well as the development of local governmental relationships. Mr. Tamayo spent over three years as an assistant state attorney in Miami-Dade County where he quickly rose through the ranks and earned the reputation of being an exceptional trial attorney. As a prosecutor, Mr. Tamayo obtained valuable courtroom experience as he tried numerous criminal cases — including more than 22 jury trials — and diligently researched and litigated a wide range of legal motions. Upon his departure from the office, Katherine Fernandez Rundle, State Attorney for the 11th Judicial Circuit of Miami-Dade County, commended Mr. Tamayo for his trial preparation on all of his homicide, traffic homicide and armed robbery cases as well as for demonstrating a fine work ethic while often being the first attorney in his division to arrive to work and the last to leave. In addition to his experience in the trial courts, Mr. Tamayo, as lead counsel, drafted several Appellate Answer Briefs and participated in oral argument before the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court. At times, Mr. Tamayo also served as a liaison between the state attorney’s office and the law enforcement community wherein he provided legal advice to law enforcement officials through sensitive criminal investigations.
Mr. Tamayo zealously represents the firm’s clients and assists in coordinating political, regulatory and legislative issues. Mr. Tamayo is a member of the Florida Bar and is licensed to practice before all courts in the state of Florida as well as before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
He is a member of the League of Prosecutors and the Cuban-American Bar Association, where he takes part as a mentor in the mentor/mentee program as well as volunteers in the Events Committee. Mr. Tamayo is also very involved in supporting his alma mater, Ransom Everglades High School, where he actively volunteers his time to promote its financial aid program and other important activities. He has also spent time participating in local political campaigns and was recently selected to participate in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Miami Program.
